The Body and the Spirit

In his infinite wisdom God created a temple often referred to as the body created; him for us to live in. Though we are invisible – (unable to be seen with the naked eyes), our bodies provide a shelter for us to survive in this atmosphere called earth. Our bodies are vessels and a means of transportation to transport us from place to place within this earthly realm.
The Body is like a car; a means of transportation. In order to fire it up you need to a place a key into the ignition. When you turn the key in the ignition without starting the car, it will display a series of lights on the dashboard signifying that you have power going to all electrical parts and all systems are a go to start the engine. When we start the car it begins to pump oil and other fluid through the engine that has a series of parts that makes the car performs. So is the Spirit that is “us” it acts like a key in an ignition when it enters a body. It signals the brain and the brain sends out signals by way of electrical pulse to the rest of the Body that all systems are a go and ready to communicate its next function. When the Spirit gives the next signal or turns the key on and starts the body, the body sends blood flowing through our veins to vital organs in the Body and makes it perform. Now if we do not give a car, the necessary maintenances it needs and putting in the manufacturer recommended oils and parts it will not perform the way it should and it will eventually stop or die. So too are our bodies if we do not feed our bodies the foods that fuels and energies the body with the foods that God created and recommends, it too will not perform the way it was meant to, and our bodies will eventually die/or expel us from it because of bad maintenance. Make know mistake about this fact that our bodies have a definite start and end date, what we feed it and how we treat it - determines how long it remains with us, before we out grow the body by fulfilling our mission or the body rejects us.
We all misinterprets the fact that we are Spirits - invisible beings, and we associate the Body of been who we truly are. We look at the outside appearance that has different shades of color just like the automobiles we drive and we select our various prejudices, our likes and dislikes of who we associate with, the kind of circles we hang around, the things we have that make us believe that we are better than the other person-or if there is something that we want, that another person posses then we apply greed-hate-malice-envy-jealousy in order to appease our mind. We use this carnal mindset of the Body and its need of earthly possessions; and this were wars are fought and enemies are made. Color barriers are one of the main reasons why we miss our mark and are unable to complete our task in this life because of these silly games we play.
Like the Spirit that has need of nothing earthly, the body on the other hand, has need of things that are earthly. The need of a home in which to live in to shelter from the harsh elements of life, the car/transportation provides movement from place to place, and clothing to cover the body to maintain dignity and respect. The things of the flesh and the things of the Spirit can be in conflict with each other and if we are not careful will create all kinds of problems in our lives because we are confused and don’t know which one we should keep in subjection in order to let the other live. That’s why our handbook the bible says “we must crucify our flesh daily”; doing this will ensure the Spirit, which is the true “us” to live. Understanding this fact of the difference between the Body and the Spirit the uniqueness between these two entities by keeping the weaker and earthly vessel in check will create a balanced life on earth so that the Spirit will achieve heavenly/supe
atural life.

“But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God”.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10
