A Roman Document equating Women’s Ordination with Pedophilia is indeed a deplorable avenue to travel down. The Catholic Church’s, so-called selective memory about this issue continues on, while the history of women within our Church, was not some fabrication, or elaborate lie, but remains a simple plain fact of truth. You can even now judge for yourself by visually watching a CD entitled, “Women Leaders in Early Christianity CD and Presenter’s Guide.” Included are 43 Mosaics of early Christian women leaders from the first to the ninth centuries.” From Future Church – www.futurechurch.org

A Thought-Provoking Question

One evening while picketing for Women Priests, a woman approached me asking, “Why did the Church, change its stance and now forbid women to be priests? What did these women do? Might there be some type of Scandal involved here?” Actually, that Scandal involved the early Church Fathers and the views that they expressed in their writings against women.

“Use of Scripture”

“Women were in effect considered to be monsters, unnatural in birth, incompetent in mind, and, disgusting in their bodily functions, they were clearly inferior to men. What they lacked in nature was equally matched by their divine defects.” from the book, The Hidden History of Women Priests, by Gary Macy. For this one example of definite bias against women, there as well were myriads, of too many other examples of outright distorted prejudice against women.

Unsuitable for the Priesthood

Women seen as not being made in the image of God, conveniently now, became unsuitable candidates for the Priesthood. Obviously, this same designation kept them from serving on the altar. Miraculously, this stellar, underhanded move by our Church Fathers was the right thing to do to women in our Church.
