The wisdom of the ages tells us that we cannot prepare for the future without looking back to see where we have come from and get our bearings to know where are we today. That may be true yet I wonder if we ever look at the past with a realistic lens?
A very wise man is recorded as saying that 'there is a time for everything' - and perhaps it is about time that we began to be more realistic about the future in light of the past. In particular the more recent past that has changed the entire worlds view over the last 10 years. It may be too late to turn the clock back and yet I hope it is not too late to dream of a better future.
The days are starting to get a little longer as I write this and spring is in the air. This is always a great time of renewal, new life and hope - at least for warmer temperatures for those of us who live in the northern hemisphere. It is also a great time to reflect on what have we learned and how are we going to use the new knowledge to make our tomorrows better.
It is my hope and prayer that we will all take some time to focus on where we are today while recording the lessons of the past and moving without fear into the future.

Diamonds and Dollars: It’s Not What Your Product or Service Is Worth. It’s What the Customer Thinks It’s Worth.
One summer while I was on vacation from college I became a tin man: selling aluminum siding and roofing door to door in the Boston area. The business has a bad reputation but our siding and our roofs were the finest available. Our prices were high but fair. In spite of what consumers always want to believe, you can’t get the best without paying for it.
