During our Passion Test training, we learned about “Jack Canfield’s story” when Janet Bray Attwood, Founder of the Passion Test (http://ulrikeberzau.com/the-passion-test/), took him through the Passion Test.

Both were presenting at the same inspirational conference in Vancouver and Janet had just developed the Passion Test. She was excited to take Jack through the process and called him up in the hotel room to get together. Jack shared with her that he was actually getting ready to take a cab to the airport to catch his flight. Janet, not deterred in the least, said, “No problem. I’ll come with you and give it to you on the way to the airport.”

Janet took Jack through the process and it was not surprising that Jack was already living his top five passions. Intrigued, Janet continued on to see what his #6 passion was, which came out as “being part of a spiritual leaders’ network.”

Jack realized the importance of his #6 passion and six months later, I was told, he invited a group of people, including Janet, to his house and launched the Transformational Leadership Council, which was Jack’s #6 passion. Many members of TLC were featured in the hit movie and book, “The Secret,” and, today, it includes over a hundred of the top transformational leaders in the world.

Jack Canfield’s Success Principles

In the name of being sensible, we end up becoming numb to our own desires. ~ Jack Canfield, Co-Author of Chicken Soup for the Soul®After learning more about Jack Canfield, I read and enjoyed his book, The Success Principles. He shares a number of powerful success principles. I’d like to share two really important ones with you:

1. Take 100% responsibility for your life

Here is an interesting formula: The Event + Our Response = The Outcome

The event is, in itself, neutral. It has no meaning, however, the way we respond makes it positive or negative and determines the outcome. We often are drawn to play the victim-mode but if we are truly committed to success, we experience that it’s our response that determines the outcome.

Think about how you respond to everyday ups and downs? How are you responding to the events in your life? Think about how often you let exte
al circumstances dictate the way you feel?

2. Be clear why you’re here

“You see, without a purpose in life, it’s easy to get sidetracked on your life’s journey. It’s easy to wander and drift, accomplishing little. But with a purpose, everything in life seems to fall into place. To be ‘on purpose’ means you’re doing what you love to do, doing what you’re good at and accomplishing what’s important to you. When you truly are on purpose, the people, resources, and opportunities you need naturally gravitate toward you. The world benefits, too, because when you act in alignment with your true life purpose, all of your actions automatically serve others.” ~ Jack Canfield.

Are you living your life on purpose? Are you expressing your unique talents and qualities? Note: Your passions are signs of your unique skills that are often dormant – they are ready to be expressed. Ask yourself, today, “When my life is ideal, what would I be doing? How would I live? How would I express my unique skills and passions?”

Find your top passions through The Passion Test and live a joyful, fulfilled life on purpose.
