“The Miracle of the Virgin of Guadalupe”

Back on December 9th, 1531 a young Native American man was walking up Tepeyac mountain in Mexico when all of a sudden the Virgin Mary appeared before him. And what took place after that was truly a miracle.

As a young Native American man by the name of Juan Diego in what is now known as Mexico walked up Tepeyac mountain, all of a sudden the Virgin Mary appeared before him. He fell to his knees as the Mother Mary told him to go to the bishop and tell him he had see
Mother Mary. So he went to the bishop and after waiting for a long time the bishop dismissed what he had to say and made him go away. But Juan Diego went back up the mountain and again Mother Mary appeared before him and told Juan to insist that the bishop listen to what he had to say.

So Juan Diego went back to the bishop and the bishop still would not believe and insisted Juan have proof of what he was seeing. So Juan Diego went home and was going to go see the Mother Mary again. But his uncle Juan Be
ardino fell sick and was on his death bed so Juan Diego felt he had to stay home and take care of his dying uncle “Juan Be
ardino” and go get a priest to come hear his uncle’s last confession.

And because Juan Diego felt ashamed that he did not go back to see Mother Mary again as instructed… he took another route up the mountain to get the priest for his uncle. But Mother Mary again appeared before him and chided him for not showing up but he explained that he had to attend to his dying uncle… and she said, “Am I not here, I who am your mother?” And Divine Mother told Juan that his uncle would recover completely… and Juan was to walk to where they first met and pick the flowers that were growing and take them to the bishop as proof. For there were all kinds of beautiful flowers growing there now including amazing roses which did not grow in that area of Mexico at the time. So Juan picked the flowers and placed them in his white cloak made of inexpensive agave fibers which he wore draped across his body. And Mother Mary touched the flowers and blessed them. Then Juan Diego carried the flowers back to the village and asked to see the Bishop one more time.

Many of the priests wanted to see what Juan Diego was hiding in his cloak but Juan would not anyone to see the flowers. Then when the bishop finally arrived Juan opened his cloak and the flowers fell to the floor and were all aglow with light. And the front of his cloak was also full of light and the image of the Virgin Mary appeared on the fabric on the front of Juan’s cloak. The bishop, the translator, and all the other priests fell to their knees and began to pray. And from that point on the bishop kept Juan Diego’s cloak, and framed the artwork and placed it in a special chapel… that was over 400 years ago. And when Juan Diego made it home his uncle was completely healed. And his uncle told Juan Diego that Divine Mother came to him and said her name was “The Virgin of Guadalupe”.

Even thought the image was created on agave fiber which normally deteriorates very quickly the image and the fibers have not decayed after 400 hundreds years. In fact, the image is just as bright and colorful as it was when it first shown to the bishop. And a noble prize winning scientists did tests on the fabric and the pigments, and other scientists too, but none of them can explain the image… or can tell anyone what the pigments are made of, they are not of this earth… or why the image and canvas has not deteriorated.

And one scientist took high powered digital images of the artwork containing billions of pixels. And when he blew up the eyes of the Virgin Mary they found microscopic images of Juan Diego, the bishop, the translator, and other people in one eye… and in the other eye, they found images of Native American people. These images can’t be seen with the naked eye, only through the use of a high-powered computer microscope.

And one time when the church was destroyed by a bomb the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe was completely unharmed. And since that time many people have come before the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe… and many of them have healed of terrible diseases.

And the image is also amazing in another way because the stars on Divine Mothers cloak correlate exactly to all the stars in the sky in December of 1531.
