Laughter is the best medicine. ~ Proverbs
Laughter is puzzling. We don't know where it comes from, but we do know that we like it. Babies like to laugh, we like to laugh at them laughing, don't we? We certainly don't work to discover in a scholarly way what laughter is or the benefits of laughter. We just enjoy the power of laughter and accept it as part of our life experience. We like it and when we haven't experienced it for a while, we miss it. We feel so good after a good belly laugh that makes tears come out of our eyes.
In articles about male-female relationships, females frequently talk about wanting a man in their lives who can make them laugh. Shared laughter is part of the attraction between a woman and a man. Laughter is contagious. If you observe someone laughing, it can really be attractive for you and ease the way into meeting one another. Sharing fun and playfulness is pure enjoyment!
Don't become overly cautious about laughing. Let is all come out every time it wants to. Picture the geisha girl tittering politely behind her hand and then re-telling the story behind the scenes with uproarious laughter with the other geishas. Like that. If you laugh at your date, fiancé or mate, you are giving them a level of approval that makes you both feel good, and aids being in love.
What can you do to encourage the power laughter in your life, in your relationships?
Find funny pictures that remind you of funny moments and give you a chuckle.
Watch a child's movie with a bunch of children and see what makes them laugh.
Find someone with a great sense of humor and share your joke of the day with her.
Listen to the song "I love to laugh" from the movie Mary Poppins and learn the words.
If you disagree with someone, or if you find their uniqueness offensive or disagreeable, you would never be able to laugh with them. Disapproval and laughter don't merge well together. Only acceptance and love can merge with laughter. It's your choice.
Laughter is as contagious as yawning is; when you laugh with others, you help them to lighten up. One of the benefits of laughter is how it is a great tool for survival through the problems that life presents; it helps us in our communicating with others. Laughter and stress don't go together.. The endorphins laughter creates make us all feel so much better, and did you know this? Laughter builds antibodies! Yes, it's true!
If we are in a relationship where unconditional approval and laughter are present, the hurts and trials we go through daily are easier to embrace. When men and women love one another and enjoy relationships filled with laughter and love, we are helped to step outside of ourselves and find ways to ease the path of our partner. Men learn to trust in sharing their feelings. Women learn to trust their feelings as well. It's a win-win, the power of laughter is, so let's laugh at ourselves more often. Get off that seriousness kick. Stroll away momentarily from your worries and problems. You'll solve them much better if you are in a happier frame of mind.
"Nothing shows a man's character more than what he laughs at." ~ Goethe
