“Yes, has magic within it,” says Susie Moore in her Huffington Post article 9 Little Known Truths About the Power of Yes! <http://www.huffingtonpost.com/susie-moore/success-and-motivation_b_5198200.html>

How often do you say yes or wish you had said yes? What is holding you back from saying yes? We often regret that we did not realize an opportunity, experience something new or stretch beyond our comfort zone.

Far too often, fear holds us back from saying yes and our fear of failure keeps us from experiencing so many magnificent opportunities. When we stretch beyond our comfort zone, it’s “uncomfortable” and we often times don’t know what to expect. By saying no to opportunities, we can stay in our safety zone but reject many of life’s wonderful possibilities.
Susie Moore shares these nine reasons to say YES in her article:
1. You block the miracle if you don’t
2. There are an infinite number of reasons to say no — something is stirring the yes within you
3. Someone believes you can
4. Yes leads to more doors (no is often closing the door)
5. Opportunities do not always arise again — or at least the same ones
6. Life is richer, fuller, more vibrant
7. It attracts positivity
8. Stretch yourself
9. Life is short. Ask not why, but why not?

It’s interesting when you keep track of your first, immediate or typical responses to an opportunity. Is your first response yes or no?

Do you experience frequent regrets, or tell yourself “I wish I had...?”

Or do you follow your intuition and allow yourself to be open to opportunities?

If you notice you tend to say no, practice the following: -Before answering, take a breath and pause. -Pay attention to your intuition – a feeling, an answer that comes out of the nowhere, a hunch – what does it tell you? -Ask yourself, what is the best thing that could happen by saying yes?

When we are saying yes we are making a choice and as Moore mentions, “by saying yes, we often need to say no to others. This is not about being a “yes person” or feeling pressured to do things we don’t want to do. It’s about having the courage and conviction to do the things we know we really want to do. So much so sometimes, they scare us.”
