In recent decades man has begun to remember and re-lea
the essential elements of healing. We have come to consider that there have been many, many systems of healing throughout the ages and that some of them may still have great merit in today's world. In times of illness we have begun to experiment with making personal choices of treatment utilizing herbs, minerals, and nutritional supplements. Much more recently we have searched for and utilized various forms of 'energy' techniques such as Reiki, meditation, therapeutic touch, and reflexology to assist our ability with which to approach healing. Methods like these are all gaining popularity as we are more and more willing to engage with life in a deeper and more meaningful way. We are perhaps more willing now more than ever to accept that we are more than just the physical beings that the medical profession has long implied that we are. And so if we are more than just flesh and bones then perhaps there are indeed more than just physical levels upon which we can affect healing. Generally speaking we have come to the realization that one cannot successfully heal another. The responsibility of healing sits with our selves. To heal is a personal choice.

The Right to Chooser
On planet earth, in our universe we have free will. We have the right to choose and also we have our own right to heal. We have in the past chosen to trust an others instinct to override our own inner knowing until eventually our intuitions have become so still, so silent, that they have become almost completely inaudible. Lucky for us, opportunity is virtually an endless natural phenomenon that consistently presents us with chances to correct something that has eluded us in the past. This refers also to health and healing.

Consider healing to be a correction of path. We have endless possibilities available to us to affect healing of our body, mind and soul. The passing of time has allowed people to tentatively begin to assert their responsibility for them selves. We are just beginning to embrace the sisters of fate with our own arms and to listen directly to what they have to say. We suddenly understand that even when we allow another to make our choices for us, ultimately we ourselves must pay the price, no one else, and the impact of this truth gives us the push we need to decide in the first place. We have subsequently become more demanding in our quest for knowledge, more disce
ing for the truth. But the challenge that remains is one of personal integrity.

Indeed, we are new at this game of making choices regarding our health. We are not doctors nor do we want to be. We haven't studied long years to understand the human system nor are we interested in doing so; but we can still choose responsibly. Are you satisfied with your treatment? Do you do your part, faithfully? What else do you do to support health in your system? Have you taken any measures to inform yourself? It is imperative that we take our health and healing path seriously. It is nothing to play with.

As energy workers we must also come to fully understand to what degree we have the power to affect others on their healing jou
eys. As a 'healer ' we step into the role of authority. We can alter an others mental state of mind, emotional state of being, and thereby have bearing on their physical health easily just through the words we choose to use. Loose tongues can wreck havoc because they plant ideas that take root in the mind. Once an idea or thought is locked in the mind the body with follow. Where attention goes - energy flows. As self-healers we must learn, with great skill, how to harness the power of the mind towards health and success for self and others.

As Healers we must learn to assume responsibility and stay vigilantly attentive to how we assert our influence over those less aware. In the position of power in a healing/mentor relationship we have the duty to empower our client's right to choose their own path towards health, not to take it away.

I was watching my six and nine year old daughters playing the other morning when suddenly there was a barrage of I Hate You and I Don't Like You Anymore statements flying about the room. Of course, it was just a moment of disagreement in child play, but the thoughts and feelings were real enough to them at that moment.
