In 1986 the Pride Mobility Products Corporation was born, evolving from an existing family business. They began manufacturing lift chairs and by 1992 they were leading the industry with their innovative mobility scooter designs. They never stopped working on perfecting their lift chair design though, so 22 years later in 2008 their lift chairs are some of the best available on the market. Many millions of people use lift chairs everyday to live a full and independent life. Lift chairs are, usually very comfortable and elegant, recliners that have a motorized base that raises and lowers at a slow and steady pace. This rising base makes it much easier for someone who is mobility challenged to come to a standing position without outside assistance and can also be used to provide a controlled sitting experience. Pride Mobility Products Corporation has developed several different product lines that are geared towards providing options that will fit everyone's specific needs. One product line that has been very successful is the Pride Gentle Line.
The Pride Gentle Line was created to combine comfort with affordability and functionality. There are 8 electric lift chairs that make up the Gentle Line and they are all fire retardant and can withstand up to 12 seconds of direct contact with a flame without catching fire. The chairs in the Pride Gentle Line all use a special, environmentally friendly, foam called Reflex. Reflex is manufactured from a variety of renewable resources, which act as replacements for the petroleum based resources that are used in most other forms of furniture foam. With the price for gas as high as it is today, this is a very noble and generous act. Reflex foam also offers superior durability and flexibility which when applied to lift chairs results in a much more comfortable experience.
The lift chairs that make up the Pride Gentle Line can support between 375 pounds and 600 pounds depending on the model. The total seat width is between 20 inches and 30 inches, again depending on the model. The lift actuator found in these chairs is designed by a company called OIKIN which has been manufacturing lift mechanisms since 1991. Lift mechanisms by OIKIN are found in many hospital grade and research grade pieces of medical equipment. The OIKIN lift mechanism incorporates a battery backup to assure that you will never be left standing, or sitting by your Pride Mobility Lift Chair. All of their units in the Gentle Line also include convenient side pockets for storing remotes, books, and magazines.
For people who suffer from mobility related problems or those that take care of people with mobility related problems, the hardest part of the day can be standing and sitting. This can be alleviated by a quality lift chair like those manufactured by Pride Mobility Products. The Gentle Line by Pride Mobility offers a great deal of features and support at a very affordable and well priced rate. There are many alte
atives on the market today, but if you want a quality made product then you can not go wrong with something manufactured by Pride Mobility Corporation.
