There is no doubt about it, the recession has most people's motivation in a vice. People's personal and professional lives are being affected by the global economic downturn. However if you look carefully you will see that some people are still able to maintain high levels of motivation even during these low times. So how are they doing it? What makes them different from everyone else? The following are three keys that these people are using that you can use immediately to bring your motivation levels back to a peak state and keep them there.
Key #1 - Vision
When things get tough it is easy for us to lose sight of what is really important. When we have the blinders on all we are focused on is how to fight the little fires that seem to be popping up day today. To restore your motivation you must break this habit. What you need and what the world needs right now is innovation and solutions, your creative mind certainly will not want to come out and play if your head is in the sand. Because these times are so tough emotionally, financially, and just about every type of other ally that there is it can make things feel overwhelming. However since we know feeling down about things is not the solutio
I would encourage you to look at the current state of things is a challenge, as game. I would invite you to lift your head up and try to see as far down the road as you can. Once you really begin to make this a habit you're hopeful and creative mind will go to work and soon all around you possibilities and opportunities that you had never seen before.
Key #2 - Identity
It is times like this that can potentially do one of two things to a person's identity. You can either lose yourself because of all the doom and gloom, or you can use it as a way to find yourself. If you look back through out history recessions are interesting things, they bring out the best and worst in people. One of the biggest and most important questions I help people answer as a life coach is the question of "who am I?" Even when things are going well this is a crucial question to know the answer to. Therefore it is more important than ever to know who you are with 100% certainty. And I'll let you in on a little secret, I have a very strong feeling that who you truly are is not someone who will power and falter in the face of adversity.
Key #3 - Purpose
Right along with identity is purpose. Imagine this, if you could wake up tomorrow morning and know exactly who you are and know exactly what your purpose on this earth is what do you think that would do to your motivation? Do you think it would help it? You better believe it! The second big questio
I challenge everyone to ask and also figure out is "why am I here?" If you know your purpose becomes practically automatic to live with passion. And when you are filled with love and gratitude it becomes easy for the hero within to step forward and take control of your life regardless of how dark times maybe. Do you want to know another secret? I know for a fact that it is not your destiny to be a coward, and I'm willing to bet that your destiny has everything to do with the ultimate version of yourself. So for the sake of your life, the life of the people who are important to you, and the peoples lives who you have yet to make an impact on take some time out right now and get some clarity on some of these issues have been talking about. Your future self will thank you for it.
Listen, now is the time to stop being fearful and spiteful of what did happen or might have been. There are people out there who need you, not tomorrow not next month on next year they need you now. They're your family, they're your friends, they're your loved ones. Right now they need and deserve the best version of yourself that you can offer. This is your destiny it is time to let the hero step forward and embrace who you were meant to be.
Go forth now, and be great!
