If you are planing a golf vacation to the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania this summer, I would like to introduce some good place for your game. This region has multiple courses to choose from, the following are the best golf courses in Pennsylvania as far as I know.
First is the Fernwood Resort Golf Course, the Fernwood Resort is located in East Stroudsburg. It features an 18-hole, par-71 golf course with three tees and a slope range of 115 to 125. Its rating ranges from 63.3 to 68.8. A pro shop is onsite. Based on my experience, holes 11 and 17 are the most challenging because of the water hazards. The most economical time to visit is weekdays after 2 p.m. Green fees tend to start at $29.
Then next is the Shawnee I
Golf Course. If you ask me, the Shawnee I
Golf Course located in Shawnee on Delaware is one of the most picturesque and well designed facilities in the Poconos. It is a 27-hole golf course that partially sits on an island in the center of the Delaware River. Slopes range from 121 to 128. Ratings range from 69.7 to 72.5. Green fees start at $19, and the best time to play is weekdays after 3 p.m.
Then the third one would be Woodloch Springs Golf Course. As we know, the Woodloch Springs Golf Course is located in Hawley. It is an 18-hole, par-72 golf course with a slope rating of 139. I've always found hole 14 to be both visually stunning and difficult. In order to conquer it successfully, you'll need to get your golf ball over a 220-yard gorge. Green fees range from $25 to $45 per person .
The Fourth one will be Glen Brook Golf Course. The Glen Brook Golf Course is located in Stroudsburg . It is an 18-hole, par-72 golf course with three tees and a slope range of 122 to 125. Its rating ranges from 69.2 to 70.9. For me, holes 5 and 14 were tough. Hole 5 requires an uphill shot into the wind and hole 14 is fraught with hazards. Watch out for McMichaels Creek. It's where I've lost a good number of golf balls over the years. Non-member green fees , with a cart included, start at $36 per person.
Then it comes to our last golf course---Hideaway Hills Golf Club. The Hideaway Hills Golf Club is located in Kresgeville. It is an 18-hole, par-72 golf course. Hole 4 can be a bit vexing thanks to a few wickedly placed sand traps. So can hole 5 with its blind spot and water hazard. Green fees typically start at $25.
All the above five golf courses are the best golf courses in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. And I wish you can have a good time in your golf vacation.
