The Truth About CBD Oil

Before jumping on the CBD oil bandwagon, I urge you to read this article. Currently every MLM company out there is promising benefits to consumers which FAR outweigh current research. First and of major importance, most studies currently are animal studies or human volunteer studies which have very small samples. The very vast majority of research cited are really anecdotal reports. Here is what is currently known:
CBD oil may have benefit for childhood seizures….Currently, one Stanford study suggests that childhood seizures could be reduced by 50%. At present, there have also been reports of only a transient benefit, meaning that this benefit was not sustained over time and seizures returned to their full velocity after using the oil for a period of time.
Nausea and vomiting: CBD oil may have a beneficial effect on nausea and vomiting. In animal studies, CBD oil had a beneficial effect on nausea and vomiting. Also, in one study of cancer patients, CBD oil had a beneficial effect on these symptoms.
Cigarette smoking cessation. CBD oil may make it easier to quit smoking when used for one week the non placebo group was able to reduce cigarette smoking by 40% for that one week. Clearly, this is not a very long term study, so hard to extrapolate much regarding this.
Anxiety and insomnia: CBD oil may have a beneficial impact on social anxiety and insomnia according to a few studies. According to a 2011 study, CBD oil could reduce social anxiety related to public speaking. Again, this is a very different anxiety than chronic anxiety faced by most people today, so unknown whether or not it would be of benefit to them or not. One animal study, rats, showed a reduction in a fear response…hardly a slam dunk for people…most studies only suggest that CBD oil might be of benefit to these populations there is NO proven benefit in the medical literature.
Here are some side effects of CBD oil: low blood pressure, lightheadedness, dry mouth, sedation effects, possible worsening of Parkinson’s, and hematologic disorders. Some maintain that worse side effects can result from inferior products less than 50% CBD oil and manufactured outside of the USA and Canada…
Upon, reading of hundreds of anecdotal reports on several CBD oil websites, I became conce
ed with the amount of side effects reported by people. It became clear to me that a huge experiment is being conducted on the public with very little solid scientific or demographic information available to support its use. For now, I would have to conclude, if it sounds too good to be true….it probably is….I do not sell this product currently and have no plans to offer it at this time! I am considering trying it for an animal application. If I do, I will report back on this.

Last year, my wife and I moved to Boise, Idaho, also known as the city of trees. The name Boise comes from the French word boisé, which means "wooded" or "forest-covered", and compared to the desert landscape to the south and west, the name Boise is very appropriate. A few days ago, on a hot, ...
