“Why fit in when you were born to stand out?” Dr. Seuss
Do you stand out, or are you busy trying to fit in? Do you focus on how to make a positive difference in the world? Or is your focus on being accepted? ADHD comes with being different. Everyone has things they do well…and not so well. The key is to maximize those things that make us unique, different, one-of-a-kind thinkers and doers. People who are most memorable are those who are different enough to stand out, not fit in.

Fitting in leads to a ‘normal’ life, but, really, who wants to be normal? Forgettable? Normal is overrated. Instead, focus on standing out. Live into the bigger story of your life. Make a positive difference in the lives of others, and you’ll make a positive difference in the world.

Take a moment this holiday season and think about how you will use your unique gifts to stand out and make a difference. Reflect on what you’re truly thankful for and how you can give a little bit of yourself to someone in need. It will warm your heart to do so and honor your positive qualities at the same.
