They said I was lazy and I suppose I was…
I did not want to cook, to clean and do all that boring stuff that a ‘woman’ was supposed to know how to do…
I took it to heart…
I made it mean something because I did not suit them…
It hurt because I let it hurt…
I forgot that I was me…
And ‘me’ was pretty darned cool!
One day, I remembered again…
And I learnt to love me again…
I set myself free from my past story.
What did ‘they’ say of you?
When will you forget the voices?
When will you let yourself off the hook of their judgement?
When will you just allow yourself to be who you want to be?
When will you stop trying to get their approval?
When will you set yourself free?
