THINKIATRY is SELF-HELP for Self-Help!

Einstein once said “The solution to a problem will never come about from the same level of thinking that created the problem in the first place.” Paraphrased, that’s: “The solution will never come about from the same level of thinking!”

Dr. Einstein recognized levels of thinking, confirming Thinkiatry’s founding premise: Our emotional lives and happiness cannot be changed without first understanding how our minds work and changing the way we think!

Therefore, Self-Improvement CANNOT truly occur unless we learn how to change our thinking level. It’s just not possible.

But, we all have a real obstacle, a major hurdle – Because we have all grown up believing that the way we think, like our breathing, or heartbeat are just the way life is – we have no answer to where our thoughts come from – we just accept our thoughts 24/7 as just the way life is.

Our society does not specifically connect the way we currently think with the divorce rate, depression, addictions, mental illness, drugs, violent crimes, greed, gangs, teen pregnancy, obesity, fear and so many other difficult human conditions – It’s just the way life is and we all know it’s getting worse.

Yet, amazingly, when I consult with others and propose we need to change the way we think – others have no idea what I’m talking about. Typically, they’ve never thought, or been taught, about how our minds work and that we can choose what we think.

Thinkiatry is the study of the Principles, Process, and Path to healthier psychological functioning and Happiness. Self-Help you will never forget, and use many times each day for the rest of your life.

To improve ourselves is virtually impossible without first understanding how the way we think becomes our feelings, our moods, our relationships; the root of the quality, or dysfunction, in our emotional lives.

About The Founder:

John L. O’Brien was born in Lafayette, Indiana where his parents attended Purdue University, but he calls South Bend, Indiana home. He was an Irish kid growing up in a Jewish neighborhood within blocks of the University of Notre Dame. He has been married for more than twenty- eight years. He has four children and four grandchildren.

The only thing John has ever won in his life was the number five (5) pick for the Viet Nam draft lottery in 1969.

He earned his B.A.; M.A.; and Ph.D. in Business and Human Resource related studies. John has studied human emotions and psychological functioning for more than three decades, searching for a path to achieve lasting happiness and contentment in life. He has founded an entirely new field of study to achieve and continually refine each individual’s path to Healthy Psychological Functioning called Thinkiatry™. Studying Thinkiatry to become a Thinkiatrist™ has the potential to help millions of people alter their lives for the better, forever.
