This will allow you to know what they think about your existing products and the service that you provide. It will also provide you with some valuable insight as to what you can do to come up with new services and products that they will continue to purchase from you. After all, there is a formula that states that 80% of your business comes from 20% of your customers. Using the right survey software tool can make a difference in how much that 20% spends.
There are some things that you should understand before you offer a survey to your existing customers. This will allow you to make the most of it and to get the answers that you need to increase the success of your business. It is not simply enough to ask them questions, you need to incorporate the right questions into the mix and make sure that it is effective in accepting the answers. The right type of survey software is going to make a difference in your ability to do so. Not only will it make the survey easy to take, it may also guide you through the process and give you suggestions along the way.
One of the suggestions that you may be given by the survey software tool is in relation to the amount of time that it takes for them to complete the questionnaire. If you are able to ask everything that is necessary within just a few questions, you will find that you get a much larger return as a result. People tend to get bored with surveys, especially when they go on and on and continue to ask similar questions. Boiling it down to just a question or two will allow your customers to get through the survey in the shortest amount of time possible.
It is also a good idea for you to accept some written comments from your customers at the end of the survey. Although not all of your customers are going to take advantage of the opportunity to do this, you will find that many of them do. Those written comments are going to be much more important than any questions that you may ask. It will give you quite a bit of insight into what they are expecting and what you can do in order to improve your existing business.
One other thing that I would suggest is that you use the survey software to expand your business in new directions. You should not only be asking questions from your customers, you should be asking questions from those that may be your customers at sometime in the future. Additionally, you can use the software to ask questions of those that you employ and to make sure that everything is running as smoothly as possible within your business. When you use the software in such diverse ways, you would be surprised with what you are able to learn to your benefit.
