Having a wedding in the middle of the week is becoming more popular than it used to be. There is a good reason for this. It is cheaper to rent the buildings and other things needed from ceremony to receptions. Weddings have become so expensive that people are looking for ways to save on the costs.
The midweek wedding was first done in Europe. Couples have started following this custom in this country over the last 20 years. Because of the photographers, churches, reception halls and caterers being in high demand on the weekend the cost for these are more on those days. But they are not that busy during the week and lower their rates to draw the weddings to Monday through Thursday.
With evening weddings on those days, couples find that even the quests like the idea better than having their weekends interrupted with a wedding to go to. There are so many other activities that go on during the weekends, which interfere with guests being able to come to a wedding. At night during the week is a perfect time to get everyone to come.
Facilities like the banquet rooms or reception halls have a higher vacancy rate during the weekdays. So Monday through Thursday you can get discounted prices on renting them. Also caterers have weekday specials too.
The bride and groom can send out cards stating for people to save their wedding date. These are sent out prior to the invitations. This gives people plenty of notice so they can rearrange their schedules.
Also if you are not planning enough ahead of time to book a weekend for your wedding a weekday may work too. You can do more last minute planning on these slower days. There is no way to find things available too close to the date on the weekends. These places are booked usually 1 to 2 years ahead of time.
It can be an exciting break in a week for all involved. The weekdays are usually all wrapped up with work duties or school obligations. A celebration such as a wedding can be a welcome break from daily routines.
Remember though that people will have to work the next day. So your Melbou
e marriage ceremony and reception need to be short instead of long and drawn out. People are more likely to enjoy a buffet for the reception rather than a sit down affair in the middle of the week. The Celebrant in Melbou
e will may also assist you with any advice needed on previous wedding ceremonies that they have completed in the same fashion.
It would be wise not to have alcoholic beverages too. Your guests do not need hangovers the next day. Use the sparkling grape juice to toast with and have a special fruit punch to drink instead. This also keeps the cost down too.
Now you can see how a midweek wedding can save you a bundle. So consider Monday through Thursday for you special day. You just might be surprised at how much cheaper it is. Just think about what you can spend the money you save on, like with setting up your new home together.
