Top Ten Reasons People Ignore Their Intuition

People ignore their intuition, an inherent ability to gain the truth about people, places, things and situations without using logic, physical senses or prior knowledge, due to ten top reasons:
1. Fear what they'll sense. They never know what they’ll sense "out of the blue." Intuitive messages are pleasant and unpleasant. They announce countless life stories, such as job promotions and layoffs, new and dying friendships, and births and deaths of loved ones.
2. Think it's their imagination. Some intuitive messages seem ridiculous and result in rejections, such as "I can’t truly read people's thoughts." Or "I won’t knock over a glass of water like I saw in a flash vision in my mind." Or "I get the impression that I’ll meet the love of my life soon—no way."
3. Doubt insights they receive. Intuitive messages appearing impossible lead to denials, such as "I dreamed about an earthquake but it was a hallucination." Or "I got a funny feeling my sister is pregnant, but her doctor says she's infertile." Or "I hear angels speak but that's crazy talk."
4. Seek to fulfill a desire or need. New and old cravings bypass inner warnings about wasted time, unnecessary heartbreaks and lethal choices.
5. Believe they know best. They believe they're right and their intuition is wrong—case closed.
6. Devalue messages importance. Intuitive messages don't rank on their list of important things to act on. They set aside hunches to backup computer files because they’ve never encountered a problem … until a hard drive crashed and resulted in lost data. They dismiss sweet scents to apply for a game show because of stiff competition and then discover they knew all the answers to the host’s questions. They snub inner voice urgings to get a health checkup since they feel well, until they’re rushed to an emergency room.
7. Don't want to lose control. They're in charge—the boss—and unwilling to honor gut feelings or dreams to maintain fictitious power, even in the face of adverse consequences.
8. Busy or in a hurry. Family. Friends. School. Work. Errands. Parties. They make no time to pay attention to their intuition's whispers and shouts that will help save them time, energy and money.
9. Sick or injured. Their health challenges overrule insights that help alleviate pain and suffering and prevent them in the first place.
10. Tired or stressed. They possess little or no energy to sense when to rest and rejuvenate for an invigorated, healthy comeback.
Your intuition doesn’t force you to heed its guidance and protection, but it will ease and enhance your life if you listen to and act on its intuitive messages.

I recently discovered the addictive joys of knitting socks! After many false starts, I found a method that works for me (toe-up on two circs) and am part-way through the second sock of the pair. And although I knit every night before I go to bed, that poor half-done sock has been untouched for a week now. Why? Because it’s time to turn the heel.

The Wisdom of the Body
Body and Ideomotor Signals As you focus on your breath, you calm your mind. A calm mind allows you to perceive what is alive and active in your larger body. Your body is the primary channel through which the unconscious manifests in your awareness. It’s easy to observe your body as exte al to your self, as an object, but it’s also intimately connected with your consciousness. Every thought and feeling in your awareness is mirrored in some way in the body, and vice versa. Twitches, itches, heat flashes, and other spontaneous body movements are messages from the unconscious.
