Getting the sales you want all depends on how many customers you have, and in the end, your profits are all about numbers. Getting a business off the ground and making it a successful one is not an easy task, but it can be an extremely rewarding one. The thing is to learn about numbers, and how they work for you. Once you learn this, you will have a much easier time finding ways to improve these numbers and make your business even more successful.

When you are trying to get sales, it is a never-ending battle. You have to be out there every day, making new contacts and doing whatever it takes to introduce people to your business, and turn those people into lifelong customers. There are many ways that you can work on making contacts. You can get out and meet people in social and business settings. You can work from your email list. You can have a direct mailing campaign, visit with people, and much more.

Let's try this. If you have a product or service that retails for $300, and you meet 10 people every day, what kind of results do you think this is going to bring? If you are good at your job, you may be able to tu
10% of your leads into actual customers. So, if you meet 10 people every day, you are meeting approximately 200 people a month (we're giving you weekends off here). You are converting 10% of these contacts into customers, which equals 20 customers. Multiply these 20 customers by the cost of your product or service, which in this example is $300, and you have a total of $6,000.

Now, what can you do to go about increasing these numbers? If you work harder, and meet 20 people daily instead of 10, and you convert 12% of these (instead of only 10%) you have the opportunity very quickly to double your profits. Make sure that you are always working to improve the conversion ratio. You can do this by learning more about sales, developing certain skills, improving your customer service (so you get referrals from existing customers) and always looking for new and innovative ways to promote your product or service. Just think about it. If you are meeting more contacts and converting more into customers, you are bound to see a huge jump in your profits.
