There is a rule in business that states that 80% of your profits are going to come from 20% of your customers. That is why it is very important for you to continue to contact your existing customers and to provide them with what is necessary to keep them happy.
The way that you contact your customers can make a difference in how successful you are as a business. There are many different ways in which this can be done, including some that have been used for many years with a certain degree of success. These include contacting people on the telephone or sending mail through the Postal Service. Of course, the Internet has really changed the way that many people are contacting their customers and we will consider some of those methods in this article. If you are seeing some success in contacting your customers through off-line methods, however, by all means continue to use it regularly.
One of the more common methods of contacting customers on the Internet is using email. Although there are many different things that people do online, everybody has an email address and they tend to use it throughout the day. If you are able to gather people's email addresses legitimately, either at your place of business or on your website, you will have a great way to contact them regularly. You can send them helpful tips and useful information, as well as information about your business, specials that you are running and coupons. You would be surprised with how much additional business you are able to see when you use email effectively.
Have you considered running an online survey? There is survey software online which will allow you to do so easily and you can benefit from surveys in numerous ways. Not only does it give you an additional point of contact for your existing customers, it also allows you to get an idea of what those customers need. You can then turn that information into additional products and services which will grow your business. The types of surveys that you can do are quite diverse. They can either be done online or you can use telephone survey software and do it in that way. In either case, analyze the data very carefully and use it to your advantage.
One other point of contact that should never be overlooked is social media. This is a relative newcomer to the scene but it is one that can be very powerful for your business. When you use social media properly, you can build a relationship with your customers that will continue to grow your business. It is important for you to understand, social media networks are about gaining trust and building relationships. You should not simply use the social media network to blatantly advertise your business on an ongoing basis. Continue to build relationships with your customers and you will find that they are willing to use what your business has to offer.
