Studies reveal the fact that almost 20 to 40 percent of women who are more than 35 years old face this problem. Most of the women have this health issue when they are at their reproductive age. Generally, these tumors cannot be considered as life threatening as they are non-cancerous. However, these cannot be taken lightly as they can cause some crucial problems like, complications in pregnancy. Classifications of Fibroids Generally, these non-malignant cysts are classified as per the location. Most of the cases, these cysts appear in multiple numbers. Some of the types include, 1) Intramural Fibroids The most common type that appears is known as Intramural fibroids that grow within the wall of the womb. This type of tumors causes heavy menstrual flow, pelvic and back pain, frequent urination and more. 2) Submucosal Fibroids These are the least common kinds. They start under the uterine lining. They may cause some serious issues as they can cause problems regarding fertility. There are some other issues that these types of fibroids cause and the symptom are heavy and painful period. 3) Subserosal Fibroids This is the last type that grows on the outer surface of the womb or on the stalk. Conventionally, they do not cause bleeding. Yet they may cause pressure. In rare cases, it can be found that they may cause severe cause. So, these are the common types that appear. Treatments With the progression of time, medical science has improved a lot and several latest treatment options have been introduced. If you have uterine fibroids, you do not have to worry as some effective treatment options are there to cure you. • The Uterine Fibroid Embolisation Uterine fibroid embolisation or UFE is the latest treatment procedure in which the blood supply to the fibroids is blocked so that the tumors become shrunk and the patients get relief. By taking this treatment the patients can lead a fibroid free life. • Hysterectomy and Myomectomy These are the surgical treatments for the non-cancerous tumors. in the hysterectomy, the surgeons remove the entire tumor affected womb. After taking this treatment the patients cannot get pregnant. On the other hand, myomectomy is the surgical procedure in which only the non-cancerous cysts are removed while keeping the womb intact. • Medications There are some medications that the doctors prescribe to the patients who have this health issue.
