In charaka samhita acharya charaka explains the method of preparing Vajikarana Ghrita (ghee processed with aphrodisiac herbs). This aphrodisiac ghee is recommended for persons who have low sperm count and low sperm motility. The method of preparation is explained below.
Ingredients:
Newly grown dehusked Black gram – 25 gm (powdered)
Seeds of kapikacchu (mucuna pruriens) – 25 gm (powdered)
Shatavari, ashwagandha, Madhuyashti [ Glycerrhiza Glabra. ] – 3 gm each (powdered)
Ghee (prepared from cow’s milk) - 10 gmr
Juice of Vidari kanda (Pueraria tuberosais) – 10 gmr
Sugar cane juice – 10 gmr
Cow’s milk – 100 mlr
Powdered Sugar candy – 5 gmr
Honey – 5 gmr
Long pepper powder – 1 gm
Method of preparation:
Boil Black gram, kapikacchu (mucuna pruriens) , Shatavari, ashwagandha, Madhuyashti [ Glycerrhiza Glabra. ] herbs in 650 ml of water. Boil till ¼ of water remains. Now add Ghee (prepared from cow’s milk) ,Juice of Vidari kanda (Pueraria tuberosa), Sugar cane juice and Cow’s milk to this and boil on a simmered controlled low heat . Wait till frothing disappears and ghee is completely prepared. Now put off the heat and allow it to get cooled. Add Sugar candy, Honey and Long pepper powder when mixture is completely cooled. Store it in an airtight container.
The medicinal properties of this ghee is explained as follows
“Icched akshayam shukram shephasashcottam”
This preparation helps in production of healthy semen which is good in quality and quantity. The semen production will be unlimited. This preparation also helps in strengthening male genital organ and male reproductive system.
Medicinal property of Ingredients:
Black Gram: This bean helps in increasing body bulk and body energy level. It strengthens the body and increases lifespan. Texts of ayurveda eulogize the aphrodisiac properties of black gram. It increases sperm count and sperm motility.(Increases quality and quantity of semen). It is very effective in erectile dysfunction (impotence) and premature ejaculation. It also strengthens the nervous system and very helpful in nervous debility. These wonderful lentils help to relieve constipation and piles.
Kapikacchu: (velvet bean): This bean is very good nervine tonic. The seeds of this plant are praised by ayurveda acharyas as the best vrishya and vajikara which increase sexual functions in men. They help in conditions like erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation and low sperm count. Regular use of these seeds increase libido in men. Hence seeds of kapikacchu are used in vajikarana preparations. Kapikacchu seeds increase sperm count and sperm motility.
Shatavari and ashwagandha are known aphrodisiac herbs which help in male impotence and male infertility.
Vidarikanda: It strengthens the body and boosts its immunity. This wonder herb acts as Rasayana and helps to slow down ageing process. Vidaarikanda rejuvenates male reproductive system and increases quality and quantity of semen. This helps to increase sperm count and sperm motility.This ayurvedic herb reduces vata and normalizes kapha. Due to these properties shukra dhatu increases. Shukra dhatu helps to increase hard erections, libido and sexual energy.Vidaarikanda acts as an aphrodisiac and is known as vrishya. This is used in vajikarana preparations.
Milk: According to principles of ayurveda milk is generally sweet and unctuous. It has cooling effect on body. It refreshes body and mind. Milk nourishes body and is believed to be a complete food. Daily consumption of milk increases libido, quality and quantity of semen and helps in erectile dysfunction. It helps to boost memory power and strengthens mind. Milk acts as an instant energizer and relieves thirst.
