People will try to take advantage of you…
Don’t let them.
You are pretty dang strong so people, who are not your people, will want to lean on you…
Don’t let them…
People will tell you their sad story hoping to get you to pity them enough to serve them for free…
Don’t let it happen! Your best service to them is to make them value your service enough that they pay for it!
At home, you will feel frustrated that no one else can see what needs to be done, they wait for you to tell them everything…
Get into the habit of making clear requests and lay all expectation that they will be anything other than themselves, down.
Also, accept that you created a situation where they take advantage of the fact that you will always handle things so you cannot now start complaining that they keep expecting it.
Start to change that expectation by asking CLEARLY for what you want.
Ultimately, you have to learn to honour and value who you are and what you offer the world…
Or else, you cannot complain when peeps take advantage!
Be honest; For a little while there, it made you feel good to be the saviour of the world…
It made you feel needed and you liked it…
But now, you see all the dependent relationships you have created and the resentment is building up within you.
Own your part in this craziness and start to say ‘NO!’
Tell them exactly what you want…
Allow them to say ‘NO!’ too…
And then come to some agreement without all the anger and recrimination…
The work you are really here to do, is too valuable to spend energy feeling misused and abused…
Change it!
