I remember struggling years ago with experiencing severe feast and famine cycles in my business and wondering how I could create a consistent stream of income and prospects. I felt challenged because I would focus on serving my current clients to the detriment of marketing my business. And to make matters worse when a client would complete their coaching program I would freak out about how I was going to create additional income. The breakthrough I experienced was realizing that it was absolutely essential for me to lea how to create a steady stream of clients and income. Not only that but I knew that I had to make certain that creating income was a consistent part of my DAILY FOCUS. I knew I couldn’t wait until clients dropped off to give attention to this very critical aspect of my business. I was being called to master creating income and generating a steady stream of prospects even during my busiest days, weeks and months. The way I achieved this was I became very clear about my top two daily priorities. These were: 1) serving my current clients in an “extraordinary way”, and 2) focusing on completing one to three “Ultimate Pay Day Tasks.” You might be wondering what an “Ultimate Pay Day Task” is. At the beginning of each month I determined how much income I wanted to make to achieve my “Ultimate Pay Day” (which was usually on the last day of each month). Then I would brainstorm a monthly master list of specific ways that I intended to achieve my income goal (including following up with specific prospects, doing local presentations, leading a teleseminar or calling places to inquire about the possibility of presenting or being interviewed). At the beginning of each day I intentionally chose one to three tasks that would support me in achieving my Ultimate Pay Day for that month. I focused on achieving these tasks first thing in the day. Many entrepreneurs make the mistake of focusing on long term tasks that might generate a big pay day 6 months out, but doesn’t result in immediate income. This is why they struggle with making it through the month! Get clear about your top two daily priorities and become committed to achieving them each and every day - regardless of how busy you are. This simple process will support you in creating a steady stream of prospects, clients and income in your business. Your next Live and Love Richly action step 1. Identify how much money you want to make for your Ultimate Pay Day 2. Determine an actual date of your Ultimate Pay Day and the amount you will make and record this number on your calendar 3. Brainstorm a list of specific tasks that will support you in achieving your Ultimate Pay Day 4. Pick 1 -3 Ultimate Pay Day tasks that you will accomplish each day - have one of these tasks always include following up with a prospect or reaching out to inquire about speaking or presenting 5. Focus on achieving your Ultimate Pay Day tasks first thing each day

I've come to realize that the situations that challenge me the most as a leader and business owner are the ones that bring up a lot of emotions for me. Immediately my internal dialogue kicks in. In the moment it seems like my internal dialogue is simply reporting the truth about my situation or the person I'm upset with. And before I'm aware of it I get caught up in my inner commentary and self-made internal reality and forget that it's simply an internal conversation that I've created about my situation.

As I travel through my life, I have often noticed that dogs have some interesting effects on people. In the presence of a dog, even the gruffest, most hardened human beings can become soft and caring. I also notice that in the past few decades, more and more people are adopting dogs than ever before. In fact, I believe it safe to say that human beings harbour much more generalized affection for the entire canine species than they do for the human race. As a lifelong dog lover, my observations caused me to ask myself some very important questions about our puppy friends...
