Do you have an existing website that is somehow not chu
ing our as much as you wish it would? Before throwing in the towel, pause – you might be throwing out a whole lot of opportunity when all you need to do is dive into a website tune-up.

A website tune-up entails identifying what your website is lacking then incorporating the necessary changes and additions that will greatly impact your online business. Reworking the material that you already have is very inexpensive. And it reaps huge benefits in terms of traffic.

The first thing you need to do is check the status of your website. Go online and Google the keywords that best describe your products or services – you may also do the same on other search engines like Yahoo!, Ask.com,or Bling. Is your website on the first page of the search results? If your website is not on the first page, then a tune-up is most definitely in place.

Many argue that not appearing on the first page of the results page means your website is simply non-existent – at least in the Internet world. At least 73.51% of organic search engine click only on the first five websites displayed in the search results. And about 90% of your potential readers only visit the top 10 websites on page one of the search results page.

So after deciding to tune-up your site, consider changing the following: 1) title tags, 2) header tags, 3) Meta description tags, 4) keyword tags, and 5) XML site maps. After that, make sure to check your “before and after| site stats to see if further tuning up is needed.

Website tune-up is not hard work; even if it is, the work will be worth the results. If you just don’t have the time to do it on your own, there are companies who offer tune-up services complete with a site analysis and before-after report.
