If you've ever been to a dinner, you probably realized that it was less about a wedding rehearsal and more about a dinner. Dinners are fun for couples and their families because they allow everyone to come together prior to the wedding. For families who don't know each other very well, dinners allow them to break the ice and prepare for their future together.
Many couples use dinners as an opportunity to present their wedding party with appreciation gifts for participating in their wedding. And many times the bride and groom will give their parents some type of thank you gift as well. Keep in mind that the gifts don't have to be expensive, just something fun and memorable that the recipients will be able to appreciate.
The parents of the groom are usually expected to pay for the dinner, but this rule is not set in stone. Depending on how the rest of the wedding budget has been allotted, the bill for the dinner is really up to each individual couple and their families. Sometimes the dinner is paid for by the couple, the bride's parents or a family friend might choose to pay for the dinner as a wedding gift.
Although many dinners are held at restaurants, it is common for the dinner to be hosted at someone's house. This is nice because you won't feel pressure to leave right away because you won't be worried about holding up the workers in the restaurant. It also allows everyone to mingle and spend time together before and after the dinner.
The dinner is not like a wedding reception because the main guests include the bride and groom's immediate families and the wedding party. Sometimes grandparents, a few aunts, uncles and cousins are on the invitation list, however, most people prefer to maintain a more intimate setting. If the dinner is held at someone's home, it is a good idea to have a restaurant cater the dinner. However, if you know someone who loves to cook, you may want to hire them to cook the food.
If you decide to have the dinner at a restaurant, depending on how many people will attend, a restaurant may give you a discount and a personalized menu to accommodate your guests. However, if you discuss a discounted price with a restaurant owner, it important that you get their offer in writing so there will be no confusion on the day of the dinner.
Many couples wonder if they should send out invitations for their rehearsal dinner. If you prefer, you can send out invitations, however, many people who are involved with the wedding expect the rehearsal dinner to occur right after the wedding rehearsal, So as long as everyone knows the rehearsal date, they will know the date of the rehearsal dinner.
The rehearsal dinner is supposed to be a fun time, so even if the details don't all fall perfectly into place, everyone will still have a wonderful time.

Do values count?
I recently watched the movie “A Solitary Man.” In it the lead character, Ben, finds out he has a medical condition, which needs to be treated.
