Weight loss is difficult for many people, not only because of the lifestyle changes they need to make to create the slimmer, healthier, happier self they are motivated to become; but also because of the mental aspect that often creates roadblocks to achieving success. Many times these mental roadblocks are centered around past belief systems or the fear or success and/or failure. These roadblocks can also be tied into what an individual believes is their identity.
When these types of challenges get in the way, weight loss can become very difficult and lead to different forms of unconscious self-sabotage. Whether conscious or unconscious; self-sabotage can eventually lead to problems with self-worth or self-esteem, and ultimately keep you from achieving your weight loss goals.
It is because of these reasons that weight loss is not always about making the right choices of food and water intake as well as exercise output.
It is because of these reasons that health/wellness coaches and hypnotherapists are great resources to helping you overcome your weight loss hurdles. They help you look at the mental aspect and many of them look at the situation holistically so that you have a better all-around experience. If the mind, body, and soul are all on board with making this change in your life it is hard to fail.
Your mind, body and soul are linked. For whatever reason you chose (consciously or unconsciously) to gain the weight so choosing to eliminate the weight is also something you can do. The work may be difficult but the rewards are priceless.
So the next time you hit a plateau or increase in your weight loss regime, ask yourself if this roadblock is physical or mental. Physical may require you to re-evaluate your exercise routine and your food/beverage intake. Mental may require you to seek help to overcome the blocks that are causing possible self-sabotaging behavior. If you are eating the wrong portions, making the wrong food choices, sneaking food or drinks that are not on your plan, avoiding exercise then you are consciously or unconsciously sabotaging your results. Now the question goes to why.
Finding the right coach or hypnotherapist to help you overcome the mental roadblocks can become a process of trial and error. Coaches have different personalities and motivate their clients multiple ways; finding the one that works right with you is important. The same goes for hypnotherapists. Some hypnotherapists use a nurturing approach others an authoritative approach. There is nothing wrong with either; the choice is simply which approach and motivation works best for you.
Which brings us full circle, achieving your weight loss goals is dependent on you; mentally, physically and emotionally. Your desire to change the behaviors that has given you these results, your motivation to make these changes, and your commitment to making it happen. By now you have probably heard there is no miracle pill that make you thin (while some can help you lose the weight lifestyle changes are necessary to keep the weight off). It is simply a commitment you make to yourself to find success no matter what obstacles come your way. You can do it if this is what you want. Simply branch out and find the processes that work for you. Be willing to try things that impact the mind, body and soul and you will be surprised at what results you can find.
