Well being. Being Well. What does that mean to you? Are you truly well or are you merely existing with various low grade aches and pains? We seem to have come to the conclusion that wellbeing means the absence of any illness. But what if it meant much more than that? What if Well bieng or being well was about vitality and energy? What if it covered mental, emotional, phyisacl and spiritual health?
There is an old Indian proverb that states: We are all a house with four rooms; mental, emotional, physical and spiritaul. if we do not go into each of these rooms everyday, even if only to keep it aired out, we are not a complete person.
So think about that for a moment. Have you been into all of your rooms today? which one do you avoid going into? Why?
A lot of us choose not to delve too deeply into our emotional selves. It all seems a bit complicated and well, emotional. We tend to push it to one side, into the too hard pile, or the "I'll deal with that later" pile . Only later doesn't arrive.
What does show up is a niggling pain that just won't go away, or a headache that keeps recurring or, well just about any illness you can imagine. Of course we don't connect that to all those emotions that we didn't want to look at. But you know what? Thats exactly what they are connected too.
The mind body connection has been recognised by healers for years and is becoming more and more mainstream. Louise Hay in her book "You can Heal Your Life" connects any physical ailment to an emotional blockage or issue and gave the solution in the form of affirmations to work on. EFT or emotional freedom technique takes this one step further and gives you points to tap on whilst repeating certain phrases to clear the energy flows or meridians in your body.
I have found in my EFT practise that getting my clients to tap whilst repeating affirmations of any kind helps them to identify and clear all sorts of issues.
The beauty of EFT is that it works on all dimensions of your life , it clears things on a physical level, mental, emotional and spiritual levels, all in one simple to use therapy.
So bacak to well being. Don't you owe it to yourself to let go of all that old emotional baggage and start living a truly well life? Isn't it time to go into all of those rooms and check out what's lurking in the closets or under the rug that is impacting on your wellbeing? Isn't it a good idea to start the new year with a clean slate? feeling vibrantly alive and free of old emotional guilt and pain.
