If you have been feeling very anxious for no good reason lately and your anxiety gets really bad all of the sudden, then vanishes and leaves you feeling scared then you are having panic attacks. Panic attacks are like a sudden surge of fear that rushes through your entire body. You can feel symptoms on both an emotional level and a physical one. These feelings often dissipate quickly, but sometimes can last for a while. The adrenaline that you feel can be so scary for a lot of folks that they usually think they are dying from a heart attack. You aren't dying though. You are just feeling the physical effects of the excess adrenaline pumping through your veins. If you are having these attacks frequently and for a period of time, you have a panic disorder. No matter what people may tell you, this is a real thing and it won't just go away if you pretend it isn't there. There are things you can do to treat panic attacks though. These attacks can alter your lifestyle a lot, especially with the nausea, dizziness and chest pain that you may feel during your episodes. The most important thing you can do is to put a stop to these and other symptoms of anxiety. After the attacks you may notice that you feel drained and tired. It is normal to feel this way, but there is no reason to keep going on like this. Never knowing when the next panic attack will come, and waiting for it is awful, but it always seems to come back. While there is not any real evidence as to what exactly causes panic attacks, it is believed that stress and genes may play a part. If you have a family history of anxiety that could be the reason that you are having problems with a panic disorder. Dealing with anxiety over time can often times lead to a person being depressed because of their anxiety. Depression and anxiety go hand-in-hand most often, so once you start to feel that your anxiety is getting out of control, you need to find out how to eliminate it.
