Anytime of the year is a good time to assess where you have been, acknowledge where you are right now, and dream your most beautiful life into existence. Here is a unique perspective for accelerating this process: Imagine that you are sitting in a comfortable, plush chair in front of a large, high-definitio TV screen. You have a remote control in your hand, and you are just about to tune into a particular channel. This is the station where you have spent most of your time over the past 2 to 6 months. It includes the programming or content that has most often grabbed your attention, and it directly relates to the main thoughts, feelings, and experiences you have had over the past year. So, with that in mind, what channel have you been watching the most? Could it be one of the following? The Fear Channel (the most crowded!), The Stress Channel, The Self-Pity Channel, The Anger Channel, The Self-Esteem Channel, The Health and Wellness Channel, The Insecurity Channel, The Romantic Comedy Channel, The Blame & Resentment Channel, The Bliss Channel, The Having It All Channel, The Divine Connection Channel, The Gratitude Channel, or The New Beginnings Channel? Has viewing this channel been helping or hindering your progress, personally… professionally? Have you been making power-less choices, such as: “I do not have time” or “I am too tired” or “I do not have enough money” for that, which emanates from a poverty mindset? Or better yet, did you faithfully make power-full choices, like: “I will move beyond my not enough time, not enough energy or not enough money excuses and trust that I will be a better person for it, which arises from a prosperity mindset? Just remember, any time your self-talk includes “not enough”, it is your Ego trying to get your energy and attention. If and when that is the case, thank your Ego for visiting and say “good-bye” to it, as it is distracting you from getting what you want from life. Notice – Non-judgmentally. Then align your intentions, thoughts, beliefs, and feelings with what you want to attract more of, for example, happiness, self-confidence, inner peace, or divine connection. I love this TV channel analogy because it reminds me that while it is important that I notice and adjust where I am putting my energy and attention, it is also essential for me to lighten up and interact more with my prospects and clients – my dream theme for this year. Now, what will your dream theme be, this year? What would be possible if you did not take life so seriously? What if you approached your personal growth plus your business and leadership development with a light heart? How much fun and rewards could you have along the way?

I’ll share with you that when I first started in business the image of a leader that I brought with me was an authority figure who has the power to hurt those that are following them. This was because I was so used to being around authority figures who were coming from a place of leading through fear (I came out of the very toxic public school system). I knew I didn’t want that in my business.

Many of my clients share that one of their biggest marketing challenges is actually connecting with enough prospects. They are doing all of this great work in their businesses, but not very many people know about their work; or at least not enough for the flow of business to be moving smoothly and easily. Stop. Start. Stop. Start. Sound familiar? There isn't one perfect way to consistently connect with prospects, but there are many ways that, when used collaboratively, will build you a nice stream of people who are interested in what you do.
