First of all, “coachability“ is an attitude. It’s faith and dedication. Resiliency, passion and commitment. All those virtues you would expect it to be. And you would argue that conscientiousness does not rule those out, and you would be absolutely right. But according to my experiences as a coach, conscientious women perform because it’s their duty and obligation. Coachable women because they want to. Conscientious women keep doubting themselves. They are questioning their motives and choices and dwell in the past while coachable women solely focus on what has been improving and why, so that they can repeat it. Conscientious women find themselves accountable to other people. Coachable women understand what’s their own best interest and therefore they stay true and loyal to themselves. Conscientious women confuse their own best interest to be about selfishness. Coachable women realize that holding on to their goals and prioritizing them is the best way of serving a bigger purpose and helping more people, even if it sometimes seems like a sacrifice. Conscientious women are humble, because they believe they have been given a burden to carry. Coachable women’s humility seeds from understanding there are things we need to do that we cannot do on our own. Conscientious women prefer to think they can manage time, but coachable women rather focus on managing themselves and their priorities, because the time is limited in any case. Conscientious women take pride in centering themselves even if they’re required to multitask to hold all their balls in the air at the same time. Coachable women have implemented the principle of focusing on the one thing that has the biggest impact on their overall success. They limit their multitasking around that particular matter. Being coachable is about surrendering control. Here in Forbes is an article by August Turak, who says: ”I often hear the argument that being coachable is a dangerous trait unless we are “certain” that we have the right coach. But while I am sympathetic, authentic change is a journey into the unknown, and a journey into the unknown is by definition a journey into uncertainty. Insisting on certainty is just another bogus constraint we impose to stay off the hook.” Conscientious women never let go the control because again, it’s their duty. Someone has to run the show. Coachable women welcome the challenge and the unknown. It doesn’t mean it’s not frightening them or that they would be taking unnecessary risks. But making the decision is always hard and requires faith. You simply will not grow without that, and that’s why conscientious strive. Because they’re lacking that faith. And yes, both conscientious and coachable women are resilient, passionate and committed, but that’s not enough to reach the excellency, and to really thrive in your business and in your life. That’s just a great start. This was the second article of the 3-part series. You can find the other two also here at SelfGrowth.com.

Where would I travel that I have yet to visit? What toys would I buy? And on and on. A few days ago I had a shift in my thinking. As I drove by a billboard on the side of the freeway indicating what the jackpot is this week, it occurred to me that many people who win the lottery actually end up with numerous problems that didn't exist prior to winning.
