Is anything bothering you today?

  • A job?
  • A significant other?
  • Finances?
  • Car trouble?
  • Not having enough time?

Any or all of these things could be bothering you at a given time. When the problems linger what do you do?

Perhaps:

  • Abuse a substance?
  • Turn to a hobby?
  • Watch television?

What is the point, you ask?

When we examine our problems in life they can usually be attributed, AT THE CORE, to our relationships with other people, or the lack thereof.

If we look at the examples above we could interpret them in this way.

Problem and One possible explanatio

Problem: A Job - Not expressing ourselves to the proper people in the right way

Problem: A significant other - A lack of affection or appreciatio

Problem: Finances - Not applying ourselves to be the best we can be

Problem: Car trouble - Not finding other possible solutions with people

Problem: Not having enough time - Lack of awareness of who can help do things

Action: Abuse a substance - Unhappy with personal relationships

Action: Turn to a hobby - Not resolved relationship problems or having enough friends

Action: Watch television - Lack of depth of developed relationships with others
What others could you add? Use social media, gamble, etc.?
These explanations are to demonstrate a point.

The point is that developing and nurturing the right relationships can reduce problems and bad habits and, thus, working on them could improve your life.

Where is this heading?
At its core Christianity is about DEVELOPING and RESTORING relationships with our Creator and with each other.

This would naturally lead to the question,

"Can Christianity solve ALL of our problems?"
The short answer is, NO. Christianity does not profess to end all of your problems, even with the right relationships. On the contrary Jesus proclaimed in the Gospel Of John,

In this world you will have great trouble. But take courage, for I have conquered the world.

  • Gospel Of John 16:33

However, you could also ask,

"Can Christianity HELP us with our problems?"

The short answer is, YES. The Bible gives us direction on how to have a relationship with others like the Creator intended. From the Ten Commandments in the Old Testament to the Gospels in the New Testament there are numerous examples of God wants humans to act for their own best interest.

What this post is saying is that a genuine belief and practice of Christianity can help you with your problems.
