The aim of investigating through case study is to gain learning through one case that can further be generalized for many others.

However, unluckily, case studies are most often inclined to subjective learning and it becomes difficult to generalize the results for a large sample of population.
Two Important Aspects of a Case Study

As already mentioned, case study might develop on personal as well as business level. However, whatever the case might be, a case study nearly covers each and every phase of the subject’s history and life. It reflects a detail account of an industry or a person.

The content developed with the help of case study includes meaningful information about company’s goals, strategies, future planning, challenges, outcomes and recommendations.
What is a Case Study Analysis?

Case study analysis offers a deep insight into investigation process. If you are going to do a case study for your project whether academic or business then you must have better understanding about the types of case studies. Here is a brief description on each of them.

Explanatory: Such case studies are developed to investigate casual studies.
Exploratory: This type of case studies involves more information and research. Such case studies are used to support in-depth research process.
Descriptive: In such processes of investigation, subjects are observed and studied in the light of pre- existing theories.
Intrinsic: When a researcher includes his personal interest in the case study then it forms intrinsic research pattern.
Collective: In such type of researches, individuals or groups are under investigation.
Instrumental: A study in which subject allows the researcher to understand something more than what has already learnt and observed.

How to Collect Data for a Case Study?

Researchers adopt number of methods to gather information about case studies. Most often, direct observation and interviews are adopted. Other than that documents like magazines, newspapers, administrative records and articles are also used to collect data for a case study. Survey records and census records may also assist researchers in their studies.
