The Master Jesus said, “As ye sow, so shall ye reap.”
The Kybalion says, “Every cause has its effect; ever effect has its cause; everything happens according to law; chance is but a name for law not recognized; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the law.”
In Eastern philosophy this is simply called the law of karma.
The most basic explanation of karma is “cause and effect.”
Every action we take, every thought we think, every deed we do is a cause that sets in motion a corresponding effect. If we set “good” causes we will have “good” effects. If we set “bad” causes we will have “bad” effects. This is why there is commonly spoken of there being “good karma” and “bad karma.” Yet, in truth, all karma is neutral.
Karma is the impersonal working out of the law of cause and effect. If we don’t like the experiences in our lives, we simply need to change the causes we set. In that sense, karma is the ultimate teacher, teaching us to “do unto others as we would have others do unto us,” as the Master Jesus said.
We are not victims of a random universe, we are co-creators with God. And as co-creators with God, we are invested with the gift of free will. And this gift of free will is coupled with the law of consequence or karma. So exercising free will comes with a responsibility. We are responsible for the causes we set, and we are responsible for the experiences that as a result are outpictured in our lives.
The Integrated Ascended Master takes full responsibility for every aspect of his life, and he realizes that as a co-creator with God, made in the image and likeness of God, he creates like God … only on a smaller scale.
