What is Reiki

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is Japanese for Universal Life Force Energy, or Spiritually Guided Energy. There are two parts to the word. REI means Universal, or all encompassing and self-knowing. (It is what you may think of as your Inner Self or your Higher Power.) KI means, Life Force Energy. KI is the energy that runs through everything at all times. It is the energy that binds all living things together.

If you put this energy together with the wisdom of the "Universal Mind" then you have the most powerful source of healing energy available.... Reiki.

In a nutshell it is a form of energy healing. It involves working with your chakras. They are the energy centers of our body that process the life force energy inside of us. There are seven main chakras in the body. It is important that you learn these in order to perform Reiki effectively. Each chakra has a specific color and function. In traditional Western Reiki, this is where the hand positions are held. The chakras can be reached from the front or the back of the body. Your visualization skills will be the key to working with chakras.

I work as a full time as a professional psychic and first heard of Reiki through raving reviews from my clients. I have several clients that have a Reiki attunement on a regular basis.

What is a Reiki Master? It does not mean that you have mastered Reiki. I don’t think anyone could ever achieve this. It simply means that they have completed their course of study and have a good enough working knowledge and understanding to now teach Reiki.

In my initial journey in trying to learn more about Reiki, also known as the healing touch, I was shocked at what I found in my area. First I found that there were very few Reiki Master’s in my area. Next I learned that some wanted as much as $1200.00 for a full Reiki Master Certification.

Thankfully I was referred to a wonderful Reiki Master with whom not only did I learn everything from, but charged me a fair price to learn it. This was my inspiration for publishing a series on Reiki. It is possible to learn Reiki correctly and effectively from home, without attending a physical class.
