The joy of shopping to some is like the sweet savor of good wine. Package and baggage - all delights of one hasty decision to taste another forbidden fruit. Dresses, shirts, shoes, perfumes and unlimited categories of buyables. Excuse my coin word but in this era of credit cards flying all over and through the mail, it is all about all you can buy. This seems to be the story of the impulsive buyer. Like a little kid in a candy store, this individual is often devoid of the reasoning faculty. It is always a moment of so much adrenalin, which ends up in an anti-climax of frustration and regret. What was I thinking? is the idea. This habit, if not nipped in the bud introduces stress, frustration and sadness into your life. It is a cankerworm that devours. How does one get out of the rut? Here are some suggestions.
1. Stop and think before you go out on a shopping spree
2. Always make a list before you leave
3. Figure out your needs and wants
4. Eliminate your wants by their importance
5. Never take a wallet full of credit cards or money with you on your outing
6. Make a habit of allowing a day or two to pass before you stoop to conquer
7. Watch out for sale jamborees, they’re all marketing strategies.
8. When the urge is too much, walk away from temptation
9. Always think about all those unopened boxes you still have in the closet. Don’t become a hoarder!
10. Returning goods is another waste of energy and time. Resist the vicious cycle now!
