Whatever You Do Will Have Unexpected Consequences

As conscious as we may wish to be in life, the difficult awareness to have is that of the unknown power that lies within us.

Whenever we take some action, there is always a consequence. Most of the time, we plan it that way and generally hope that the consequence will be the one that we intend. The higher our awareness and the better attention we give to our planning, the more likely things will turn out just the way we envisioned them.

Except that the world is more complex than that. People are more complicated. And everything and everyone outside of us is out of our control. Maybe that sounds as though you are powerless. Looked at a different way though, you might see that you have immense power, because once you say or do something, you have put it out to a world that has the potential to react to it in ways that you hardly imagine and usually could never even know.

A word that you pass on to a stranger today can be passed onto another, who will make a change, which will affect hundreds of people, which can have an impact on a million. When it comes back to you, you will probably never know where it came from.

So don’t hold back from doing what seems right to you for fear of what might happen. Stuff is going to happen anyway, whether you do it or now. For your inaction will also reap unexpected consequences. You just haven’t been a part of it.

In Peace

A common phrase used in Coaching and therapy is experiencing an “Ah Ha” moment. A thought occurs to you that shifts your universe, you get a different perspective. A basic value that you live by is changed or altered. Everything concerned with your life, relationships, faith or even who you think you are can be effected. It happens in an instant. The roller coaster just reached the top of the ride and then, you just took off! This was mine, yesterday.

So here we are once again celebrating Christmas. How fast this seems to come around, especially the older I get. Peace and Joy, these are the tools for a meaningful life. I wish you PEACE. Peace in your heart, with your families and friends. Peace in your mind, especially looking toward the future. I wish you JOY. Joy to continually fill your heart. Your mind thinking of joyful things to do with those you love and care about, giving you a reason to get up everyday. This is truly one of the secrets to creating the memories that slow down the passing of time.
