There are so many things that happen on a daily basis to add to your stress level. A new project just landed on your desk, the school called, new bills in the mail, and you are waiting for that important phone call or letter.

This is the hardest thing to do, just wait. Sure, you can occupy your time as best you can but your mind still thinks about it every second until you hear something, anything, just to know. When you wait to hear something, your patience level is put to the test. You are on a short fuse; everyone around you can feel your tension. It doesn’t matter if you are waiting for correspondence to close the deal, to hear the report from the doctor, a job offer, all are stressors.

Let’s make life a little easier for you and everyone around you. First of all, you cannot control the situation. You cannot speed up the mail, or make the phone ring, or leave twenty voicemails to your prospective employer. Second, look around you. The people that are around you enjoy your company, they deserve better than a short fused friend. Try something different, let them vent on you! Listen to their problems and it will take the focus off the news that you are waiting for. Thirdly, do something for yourself. It doesn’t matter if it’s big or small; just acknowledge that you are a strong person. And finally, share your joy with others. Go have fun!

Today’s issues do not have to ruin your day or put a damper on it. Some people keep busy by cleaning house, gardening, working out, reading a book or going to a spa. Keep your mind active by planning the next step that you’re going to take. Don’t forget Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong and meditation are also helpful in relieving stress and your patience level will increase.
