If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right. - Henry Ford

When it comes to your goals and ambitions what are your inner expectations? Do you think as if it is impossible to fail or deep down do you figure your just dreaming?

Whichever feeling you have will almost certainly lead you to the outcome.

I think just about everyone has heard the theory that thoughts are things by now. If you haven't, it is believed by many positive thinkers that thoughts have actual power and so you must guard your thoughts so that you are certain to only think the things you want to bring into existence.

Some people blow this idea off as total bunk. What I'll ask you though is if you can think of one person you know that is totally successful; and I mean happy, wealthy, in love and healthy; that does not believe in the power of thought.

If there is one person out there like that, I've never met them. What I do know is that everyone I know who resembles the above criteria has a very positive outlook on life.

A very powerful ally to your success will be the focus you put on your thoughts. If you find yourself having doubts or otherwise feeling negative about an issue, immediately follow it up with a positive thought. I follow mine up with three positive thoughts!

One thing that makes people hesitate to embrace this philosophy is personal responsibility. You see if you take responsibility for your thinking then your success or failure can only come down to you. If you fail you can't say things like, "Well the person that got the job had more educatio." or "Society won't let me succeed."

Every single one of us will face challenges, overcome obstacles and make progress. By expecting to succeed you get out of your own way. It's ok to make mistakes. It's ok to do things over. It's ok to make course corrections. IT IS NOT OK to sabotage your own success.

Here are a few positive suggestions to help you get started to a more positive way of thinking:

I am the best. I am successful. I am fearless. I am focused. I use my time wisely and well. When I get off track I find my way back quickly.

If you say just that to yourself every morning and every night you'll see changes in less than a month.

Whatever you expect to happen most likely will. Take charge and expect the best!
