Social media privacy is a very important part of any social media campaign. This is because any professional is going to make enemies while on their way to making it. It does not matter if these enemies are people who compete with the business owner or if they are former clients or customers. At some point, every business develops people who want to see the business fail. Therefore, it is smart for a business owner to manage their social profile with an eye for privacy.

A professional which social media privacy is very necessary for is the therapy profession. These people are prone to meeting certain types of people and these people may feel slighted at times. Therefore, a person in this profession must be very careful about how they talk and act on the social network.

A therapist knows that they should advertise on the social networks, but they do not always know how because of the laws against them revealing situations or things that are revealed to them in therapy sessions. This does not leave them with much content to talk about on the social networks. Even when they are involved on the social networks, they may be deluged with requests for free information.

This is a time when the therapist's ability to keep themselves private comes into play. A person may feel slighted at not getting the response that they want from the therapist. Therefore, they may become angry and abrasive. The therapist should have the maximum amount of privacy at this time. If a therapist has been using the social network system with an eye for privacy, then they will be able to keep themselves out of harm's way in the situation.

Even if the therapist never encounters this situation, they may encounter clients who want more help than they have paid for in their sessions. They are prone to finding ways to contact their therapist outside of work and having a personal social media account may be another way for a client to contact them unless they are very careful about how they use that system.

It is not a stretch to say that any person who is a therapist and wants to use the social networks should be very careful on the networks. There are many pitfalls that the therapist can accidentally slip into, especially because most networks do not default to privacy for the user. They incorrectly assume that everyone (friend, foe, or ally) should be able to see everything on a profile unless told not to by the user. This one practice by the social networks can be very dangerous for a therapist.

A therapist should also be conce
ed with how his or her patients "tag" his or her profile in the social network. This tagging gives the social network more information about the therapist and it may not be accurate information. This information may be used against the therapist in litigation and it may be hard to disprove the information in the court of law. Therefore, a therapist must keep these "tags" off their profile as much as possible, because of possible legal problems later down the road

Therefore, even though there is a lot to worry about for a therapist. A therapist who can manage their social networking campaign and profile with an eye for privacy will do well in the social networks. There are many people who cannot do this, but a therapist may be one of the people who have no choice but to learn how to accurately use social media with an eye for privacy.
