Why Not Just Go After All The Money, Influence, Power YOU Want?

I used to think that the inner cravings inside of me had to be tamed in order for me to be accepted by God and man.

I have always wanted to speak to a large group of people, sing to them, write and have my words read by them. I have always known that I have something to say and I have longed to be able to say it, to influence people with my words.

EXCEPT I held myself back because I thought it was too proud of me to actually go after all that I wanted.

What gave me the right to think that I could just go do all of that?!

And then to add fire to the silly flames, I put rules around it. If I was proud about what I was good at then I could definitely not get the money, the influence, the power that I knew I was born to have.

‘god’ would hold it back from me, or so I told myself.

And so I tried to be ‘humble’ and ‘nice’ so that ‘god’ would give me my heart’s desires…

And also, so that someone would finally notice me for being so nice and kind and they would finally allow me on their platform, or they would finally buy my stuff…

It did not work.

IS IT WORKING FOR YOU?

You have tamed out the awesome in you because you think that you have to, in order to get what you want but actually, you put obstacles in your own path.

You tame the way you dress…

You tame the words you use…

You tame the tough message you want to deliver…

You hide the ‘not so nice’ parts of your story…

You allow people to walk all over you, because you think that this is how to be nice and to get them to like you…

You tame the vision in your heart and decide to settle for less because the big vision makes you look greedy…

But these are all obstacles YOU PLACE IN YOUR OWN PATH!

And it does not fucking work anyway!

You attract the wrong people to your world…

You are not communicating enough to attract the right people…

You are judging all you say before you say anything…

You don’t actually know if your people will like it or not, because you are not putting it out in the world…

Even your friendships are all tame because you are not showing up as the bold person you could be.

And you are scared that if you do, then you may even lose these dissatisfying results.

And then, you judge other people who are doing what you think you are not allowed to do…

You make a rule about it…

But it just gives you an out.

Because if it is wrong to speak like that, dress like that, act like that, then you don’t have to face your fears about doing any of it. You are just being a good little Christian or whatever religion you follow and so, of course, you cannot do what all those ‘unrighteous’ people do.

And so you add another obstacle, another road block to your own path to success…

You judge others and so you are judged too… by yourself!

And I understand that because you have not yet experienced the full success you crave, you are not completely sure whether the areas where you hold yourself back, are areas to be worried about…

THEY ARE!

Trust me on this…

Every time, you tell yourself that you are not allowed to do that thing that occurs to you to do, is a decision you make to stay stuck in place getting nowhere.

You can make it seem like you are following religious rules…

You can make it seem like you are being nice…

You can tell yourself any story you like about why you are holding back…

Ultimately, it leads to you settling for less than the big vision.

IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT?
