W.O.A. - Woman Of Action!

I picked up my favorite “Haute Couture” Magazine! The headlines read news from the fashion world and buzz from New York, Los Angeles, Milan, and Paris fashion weeks. I am always inspired by the runway and the fashion show that I went to in Los Angeles last weekend was no exception. Now, before you guess. It wasn’t the fall collection that moved me, though it’s well worth adding to my wardrobe this season. It’s was how the president of the company rocked the runway. What did she do? What was she wearing? Did she look hot? Instead of talking about what shoes or accessories would work best. She motivated the crowd of “Fashionista’s” with good old fashion personal development. Not a usual mix for a fashion event but well received by me. She was well dressed on the outside but on the inside she was a “Woman Of Substance”. A label we all should strive to wear every season. So, how do you become a “Woman Of Substance”? You have to first be a “Woman Of Action”. You’re probably thinking that’s easy but before you give yourself 2 thumbs up. I have a question to ask you. Are you taking action or is a distraction? Take Action Implement & Execute! 3 of my favorite words…It’s easy to fall into the trap of “I’m busy” so of course I’m a “Woman Of Action” but I’d like you to be honest with yourself and look at the things that you’re doing. Are they worthy of the spotlight? Every step you take should bring you closer to your goal. If it’s not you’re wasting your time. Not the time to be fashionably late! You have to get moving NOW. Ask yourself what can I do right now to make my goals a reality this season? It’s easy to get stuck too long in the thinking and planning phase. I find a lot of women love accessorizing and continue to add “procrastination and perfectionism” to all of their “outfits”. A “Woman Of Action” doesn’t have time to try it on, she’s too busy adding the right pieces to her wardrobe and getting things done. She plans but knows how to produce. Because ladies, if you don’t produce-you can’t profit (Not Cute!). A “Woman Of Action” focuses on results and is not one to focus on the reasons/problems why something won’t work instead she takes action because she knows there’s always a solution to any problem. For example if the zipper is broken on your dress. Do you complain about how you broke the zipper and come up with 100 reasons why you can’t wear the dress, how bad the dress looks without it and how you wasted your money. If you love the dress you don’t just hang it back up in the closet, toss it in the trash and forget about it. You’re a fashionable “Woman Of Action”, you call a seamstress and take it in to be altered so you can wear the dress again. Life’s mishaps, challenges or obstacles never knock you off the runway! It’s important you have the same level of conviction for what you want to accomplish both personally and professionally. What can you do right now to cross the barrier between merely thinking about what you want and actually making it happen? You must consistently strut your stuff by taking action every day if you truly desire to be a “Woman Of Action”! Look at your life right now and list everything that you’re doing that’s moving you closer to your goal this season. In the event it’s not, make a commitment to never wear it again so you can be a “Woman of Action” worthy of the spotlight!!! A “Woman of Action’ knows what she wants! A “Woman of Action” goes after what she wants! A “Woman of Action” believes she can get what she wants! A “Woman of Action” is courageous and a risk-taker! A “Woman of Action” feels the fear and does it anyway! A “Woman of Action” doesn’t worry about what others think or have to say! A “Woman of Action” is a “Woman Of Substance” inside/out! Done is better than perfect and always produces pretty results!
