I have to admit, I love routine, and as much as many of us don’t like to admit it, there is comfort in doing the same things and knowing exactly what to expect—no surprises, no fear, no thinking required. And sometimes, routine can be a very good thing. For example, getting into a routine of getting motivated and dressed to workout out daily is great! But when it comes to the workout itself, doing the same exercise routine everyday = not so good or effective.

The thing is, we ALL have our own demons, challenges and circumstances to battle with. “What a nightmare” That was the immediate response I received when I first shared my personal journey on how my career in fitness developed. Why, on so many occasions, didn’t I just pack up and go home, clearly the universe was against me pursuing my goals, from physically& professionally to financially and personally. This reaction completely shocked me because I had never thought of my journey as a nightmare. How to get started

Running was my passion; I had endorsement deals, awards, records and sponsorships, and all the promise of a glittering athletic future. It was my dream to compete in the Beijing Olympics in the 10,000m. With my hopes high, my running career soaring, and my training schedule set, I was determined to do whatever it took to achieve my goal; I was on fire….when all of a sudden it all came to a screeching halt – a career-ending injury.

After being told I would never run again, my dreams were crushed, my identity lost, my spirit sunk. But if running had taught me anything, it was that you CAN NOT give up just because it gets tough. I refused to believe there was anything I couldn’t do. I had no idea where to start but I made it my mission to carve a new and meaningful life path.

It took having my life, my fitness, and my body as I knew it taken away from me that I realized the true effect that fitness can have on your life. It’s not just about exercise, it’s about owning your body, your life and being excited to conquer each day.

Now, I am living my childhood dream by calling New York City my home, and the opportunity to travel around the world teaching people how to be the leading characters in their own lives, physically and mentally.

I believe that fitness is a catalyst for positive change in your life and truly affects EVERY aspect of your being, from your confidence and daily outlook, to your personal and professional relationships, your career, your reactions and beyond.
