Dr. Ana Nogales, a licensed clinical psychologist with offices in Los Angeles, and Santa Ana Califo ia, is two decades into a career of providing aid for members of Latino community wrestling with cognizable emotional disorders, and, more broadly, encouraging Latinas, across social class and occupational lines, to reach effectively for their professional and personal goals. She combines with striking effect compassion and business savvy. Her own example, first of all, reinforced by a stream of broadcast appearances on southern Califo ia and national media outlets, and the growing library of her books are among the instrumentalities bought into play in the enterprise. Her armamentarium includes, among other things, a series of self-help cassettes, Auto-Ayuda Psicologica, on topics ranging from the difficult (e.g., depression) to the impossible (understanding the opposite sex), for all of which an avid public awaits eagerly. Dr. Nogales has worked productively with numerous civic and business organizations in the Latino community. The marks of her thought and influence, and, most signally, her shrewd compassion, are impressed on individuals from many classes, ethnicities, and neighborhoods, across lines of gender and age, and on the culture of a society forever in need of encouragement and definition.
