Favorite Quotes & Thoughts from Aqsa Zareen Farooqui
Life is all about inclusion. It 's about being able to see people for who they are-without the labels. Before you talk to someone, try to forget (just for a moment) how you have related and compared yourself to them in the past-black, white, brown, thin, fat, tall, Christian, Muslim, annoying, funny, weird, ex-wife, ex-husband, rude etc. Today, greet them openly, with no preconceived notions. Give your mind permission to continue chattering about the individual's characteristics. Instead try to focus on the "humaness" of the person across from you. Remember that they are just like you. Gradually, you will notice your relationship shifting with them. AZF

How to get started
Jou aling helps you find direction in your life, truly love yourself, and have more fulfilling relationships.
And all you need is fifteen minutes a day, a pen, pencil or a crayon, and an intention to improve your life.
I have been jou aling for twelve years now. And it works. Every time.
Jou aling is different from a keeping a diary. A diary is a record of events and generally includes a description of your feelings and your perceptions of others. However, a jou al's sole purpose is to help you find out more about yourself and consists of self-reflections, introspection and focuses on emotional, physical, mental and spiritual state in the present moment.
I have worked with individuals and couples who have found jou aling an easy and comfortable way to learn more about themselves, have satisfying relationships and find meaning in their lives.
Jou aling is effective and easy because:
1. When you write something down, draw a symbol or a picture, it becomes concrete and real.
2. It is easier to remember an inspiring thought or a gut feeling if you have written it down.
3. A record of a thought, feeling, emotion or symbol can have a different meaning at a later point in time. You may have an ‘a-ha moment’ about something you wrote a year ago. e.g. start a new business. You may have had an idea about a new business but may now have the financial resources and connections to start it now.
Jou aling can range from writing down thoughts and feelings, having an appreciation jou al, jotting down monthly fitness, romantic or career goals or even doodling or drawing a picture that you have visualized. Writing about dreams, stories and fairy tales have also been helpful for clients.
