From Khalsa International, Avtar moved to the renowned Miraval Resort, in Tucson Arizona, where he created and lead the fitness team for six years. Since 2005 he has bee Miraval's Professional Fitness Coach, working directly with clients to identify and change the negative patterns that are preventing them from attaining optimum health and fitness.
Throughout his career, Avtar has worked with thousands of clients including high-profile clients such as Barbra Streisand, Charlie Sheen, Oprah Winfrey, John and Teresa Heinz Kerry, top athletes, business leaders, and thousands of other people who credit his mind-centered training techniques as the key to weight loss and lasting health.
In addition to his deep understanding of how the mind works to influence the body and his belief in the benefits of balancing body, mind, and spirit, Avtar holds a Master's Degree in Physical Education and several International personal fitness coaching certifications. He teaches his philosophy of Mindful Fitness around the world.
Avtar's personal passions are his family, his spirituality, exercise, reading, cooking, travel, and helping people around the world understand how to incorporate the mental, emotional and psychological sides for creating a successful life in balance.

Finding a Real Wellness Coach or Personal Trainer
One of the most common for abandoning a fitness plan is using gym equipment improperly and, therefore, either hurting oneself or failing to see results. For that reason, I strongly recommend that--particularly if you have never used free weights or professional gym equipment before—you hire a competent personal trainer or fitness coach for at least a few weeks to show you the proper form and teach you how to use the equipment safely. In addition, a coach or trainer can help to keep you motivated during that initial period of three to four weeks until your routine becomes automatic.
