Every time your mother or father asked you a question your answer was, “Why?” You wanted to know why the sky was blue and why you had to go to bed, etc. As a parent, if they knew the answer to your question, they would patiently tell you. If they were at the end of a trying day, or frustrated, the most likely answer was, “because. “ Today if you are trying to lose weight, you need to ask that question of yourself. “Why?” Without knowing your why, the reason for wanting to lose weight, you will never be successful.

When you stand in front of a mirror, does your self talk essentially say: “Mirror, Mirror take a hike, I see nothing that I like?” Not exactly the fairy tale quote, but then you are not the evil stepmother. What you are is someone who has body issues. Although it doesn’t matter how long you have had these thoughts about your body, this is very likely one of the reasons you haven’t been able to maintain weight loss. I will explain why later.
