Be adette Boas is known as a ‘ball of fire’ change agent, celebrated speaker, author, and radio host who inspires, motivates and equips women, companies and cultures with the mindset, skills and talents they need to obtain success and prosperity. She is acclaimed for her deep dive interviewing and tough love collaborative style in understanding the business and life issues being faced today.

Be adette spent over twenty five years in corporate America, driving change and delivering significant improvements withi Fortune 500 companies in various global business consulting, organization development, and management leadership positions. With what she called her ‘pink slip to freedom’, Be adette authored her first in a series of books, Shedding the Corporate Bitch, Shifting from Bitch to Rich in Life and Business, which propelled her to the position of Leader of the Shedding the Bitch Movement

Be adette is the founder and CEO of two aspiring Atlanta, Georgia based companies, Ball of Fire Consulting, previously The Boas Group, a business management consulting and coaching practice, and Ball of Fire, Inc., a media, entertainment, and publishing firm.

An Atlanta, Georgia resident for sixteen years, Be adette is also an avid cyclist, runner and dog park visitor, where you will often see her with her four-legged best friend Charlie.

Good morning! How has your morning kicked off? I will admit to you that this morning I have woke up on the ’wrong side of the bed’. For reasons I am not sure of, I was up and down throughout the night, the alarm went off multiple times beginning at 5:30 a.m., and I laid there through multiple snooze buttons considering my options of pulling the covers over my head or getting up and facing the day. I chose the latter. I had to. I have employees, prospects, partners, and clients counting on it. I also have several business meetings and deadlines to ’show up’ for before the day ends.

Back when I was a buyer for a large department store in Miami, Florida, on the wall behind my desk hung a cut out piece of felt that had a saying on it that read ” You have to spend money to make money”. At the time retail was struggling and many retailers were cutting back on the quantities of merchandise they would buy to stock or inventory the stores with. As well they were slashing prices every time a competitor blinked or with each day that passed and sales goals were not being met.

Prior to deciding on my next career adventure, I experienced what many have, and I never imagined myself experiencing. That was, the five minute ‘we are making some organization changes’ discussion, from my manager. Even as he said that, I was imagining a different job, a new role, maybe a downsizing of my responsibility within the company. I never imagined after years of dedication, loyalty, and, if you allow me to boast, significant contribution, that I along with others, was being downsized right out of our jobs. Unbelievable!
