Brett helps people learn how to get buy-in, how to gain agreement, with people so that they can move the action forward, get results, and achieve their goals. In his 35 years of research, Fortune 500 experience, consulting, and training people, he has found that central to success is the ability to get buy-in. Failure is always associated with the inability to gain agreement with people to act. Here’s the key issue. The vast majority of people do not understand or know how to effectively get buy-in. They don’t know the process, have the skills, or understand the psychological influences impacting their ability to get buy-in. This is why Brett starts with Getting Buy-In™, a program he created, in his personal and leadership development, coaching, organizational culture, and strategic selling work.
Brett is also known for Empowering Leadership™ a program that combines four critical ways of leading with his Getting Buy-In™ model to create a proven leadership mental and emotional roadmap.
Brett has Fortune 500 sales, management and leadership experience in the business services and technology sectors with Yahoo’s Resumix, Inc., Oracle Corp., Lockheed’s CalComp, Control Data Corporation, and the United States Army where he served as a Captain.
Brett’s experience and leadership span sports, board-level, sales teams, company, and management consulting projects. He works within a variety of industries especially Entertainment, Technology, Automotive, Finance, Consumer Products, Manufacturing, Services, and Commercial Real Estate.
Brett is a Ph.D. student in Human and Organizational Development at the Fielding Graduate University, Santa Barbara, Califo ia. He holds a Masters in Systems Management from the University of Southern Califo ia and a Bachelors in Social and Behavioral Sciences from The Johns Hopkins University.
Brett is a certified through the International Coaching Federation and Fielding Graduate University’s Evidence Based Coaching Master’s level program. He is certified in Marshall Goldsmith’s Stakeholder-Centered Coaching. He was trained in Ontological Coaching by Fernando Flores, PhD. He is certified in a variety of assessment areas that include behaviors, motivators, thinking acumen, competencies, emotional intelligence (EQ), ASSESS® 360 surveys, and FIRO-B.
Brett is co-author of the book, Leadership: Helping Others to Succeed. He is currently writing his book on getting buy-in that is expected to be released in late 2015.

How to get started
Our main focus is on teaching our clients how to get buy-in. We teach a process and the skills needed to gain agreement with other people. Getting buy-in applies to business conversations that require people to discuss, explore, and agree to action. Whether getting a proposal approved, employees to commit to a goal or vision, a team to agree to collaborate, or a client to contract with you, learning how to get buy-in is essential to success. It scary how ineffective people are at getting buy-in. The lack of productivity and results proves the point. The amount of disagreement, resistance, stonwalling, and disputes is evidence to the lack of understanding and skill at getting buy-in. Organizations need to teach their people the art and science of getting buy-in as a general requirement of employment.
