Brooks is the writer of the children’s picture book series The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob, inspired by the philosphies of achievement of authors such as Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightingale and Bob Proctor. He is also a speaker and mentor to children on the principles of achievement including following one's passion, developing confidence, and maintaining a positive mental attitude. In addition, Brooks is a partner at investment bank Ion Partners in New York where he advises technology and closely-held businesses on strategic transactions. Brooks is the father of an active 8 year old boy who inspires his writing and helps him to relive his glorious sports-filled childhood. Brooks is originally from Wisconsin and then Califo ia; but after 14 years in the Big Apple, he is now an offical New Yorker.

The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob is a picture book series for pre-school children through readers in the early grades (K-4th grade). Toddlers will appreciate the colorful illustrations and enjoy listening to the rhyming stories while young readers will also absorb the subtle positive lessons that the stories reveal.
Our mission is to empower children to succeed by permitting them to pursue their passions.
This mission is supported by the introduction to children, through Blue Ocean Bob’s maritime adventures, of timeless principles of achievement. The stories, and the messages they contain, are inspired by the work of outstanding individuals who have spent their lives researching and teaching these principles, including Wallace D. Wattles, Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightingale and, for the past fifty years, Bob Proctor. While many of the principles in The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob may appear basic or widely accepted, they are often not taught to children as part of a regular school curriculum.
We hope that the Blue Ocean Bob books and products are fun, colorful and inspiring while they also provide children with a framework for success in any endeavor they choose to pursue. In addition, we hope the Blue Ocean Bob characters and stories will develop an appreciation and respect for our oceans and sea life in children from an early age.
